I was in a Walmart in the middle of nowhere and convinced DH to follow me into the cosmetic section where I happened upon this brand I had never heard of before. Geo Girl cosmetics is obviously targeted towards a younger market; however, the eco-inspired packaging caught my eye as well as the very reasonable price tag ($3.98 for the lipshine and eyeshadow, $5.98 for the moisturetint). Though I haven't fully worn the items, I'm impressed so far. The lipshine is a tinted lipbalm which comes in several different fruit-flavored shades, all of which smell like their namesakes. I picked up Raspberry which is a sheer pink with very subtle shimmer and quite nice. The Pressed Mineral eyeshadow I've tried is buttery smooth and highly pigmented. I picked up the most neutral and wearable shade: See Shells. I also got the Moisture Tint (ie. tinted moisturizer in the shade Light but I haven't even swatched that yet). I'm kind of regretting not picking up another lipshine in case this is a regional thing. I've never seen this line at my local Walmart!
You can also purchase Geo Girl on drugstore.com. I found this article about the somewhat controversial line here. Whatever their target age range, I think the line is suitable for all ages.
As a side note, catering towards younger girls is nothing new. I started wearing a bit of makeup when I was 12 and Walmart carried the Mary Kate & Ashley line which was also marketed to the tween market about 5 years ago.
Have you seen or tried this brand before? I obviously missed the drama back when it launched earlier this year!

More Hard Candy @ Walmart
This in-store picture was taken the same time I picked up the Blush Tints. I quickly made a pass through the Christmas aisles, which by-the-way are crazy, at least at my Walmart. For those looking for the Hard Candy nail polish or makeup kits (which I have heard aren't good at all, witness the Muse's review here) the aisles are disorganized and due to the copious amount of people in Walmart any given day, I doubt they have the man power to make sure the aisles look pristine. Anyway, there is no one specific Hard Candy section and I found various Hard Candy sets and kits in each aisle.
You see the little Hard Candy boxes kind of thrown haphazardly around Body Fantasy sets and lip balm? That's how the whole Christmas section is!
If you don't want to shell out $5 for a set, in a completely different row I saw these and quickly picked them up.
For $1 each, you receive a tiny little .14oz bottle of Hard Candy nail polish and a little heart shaped emery board. I only found these 3 colors but there may be others. They also had various eyeshadow sets but after the rather bad review of those, I think I'll skip them.
Any other holiday goodies you've found at your local Walmart?

I Found Hard Candy!
There's been quite a craze over the new Hard Candy line at Walmart, and while I wasn't sure it would be at the one close by, I took the chance. And there it was, in it's new shiny goodness! It had to have gone up very recently because even the price tags weren't up yet. I have to admit I went a little crazy. I just have product photos so far. No swatches. Hopefully, it's all decent. Though, I just double checked Walmart's return policy and as far as I can see, there are no exclusions with cosmetic products (though correct me if I'm wrong) unlike Target.
What can I say about the line without even cracking open these babies? Well, there's a ton of it! I could have gone super wild and picked up much more. There are easily over 100 different colors/items in the line. Several different lip colors, eye shadows, bronzers, face products, eye palettes... And for all of you germaphobes, everything in the line is sealed, which is awesome.
Nouveau Cheap has great pictures of the whole line here.
