5 Minute Face: Eyeshadow/Eyes

Next in the 5 Minute Face series, eyes. Since I put a lot of effort making sure my face looks halfway decent, I don't really apply a lot of makeup on my eyes in the morning. I also deal with allergies and since my office's air system is apparently filled to the brim with dust, my "seasonal allergies" are now weekly (Monday-Friday 7am-5:30pm) allergies. For this reason, it's almost silly to put a lot of effort into my eyes simply because by the end of the day, most of it will be teared or smudged away.

That being said, I tend to do a "my lids but better". Colors that are similar to my natural eyelid color or a few shades darker or lighter. Depending on my mood, I switch between matte and shimmer shades, sometimes I only wear a tinted base, sometimes I wear eyeliner, sometimes I don't. If I know my eyes may be particularly sensitive (Mondays are the worst!) I forgo colored mascara in lieu of clear.

I always start with a base.

* Lumene Beauty Base
* Benefit Creaseless Cream in Recess
* Sue Devitt Starlights Clear Water Eyeshadow in Leo d/c
* Prescriptives Moonbeam Reflective Eye color in Satellite Wine d/c
I tend to wear the Sue Devitt and the Prescriptives alone when I'm really in a rush. The Lumene and the Benefit generally act as bases for powder eyeshadow.

Various neutral eyeshadows. Some of my favorites are Tarte Glow, Stila Wheat, Stila Kitten, Garden Botanika Blossom, MAC Vanilla, L'Oreal Bare Natural Bare Nude and Bare Escentuals Pink Sands.

Most of the time I don't bother putting on eyeliner but when I'm in the mood, I tend to choose jewel tones or blackened colors. Because of the allergies, I only wear waterproof or long wearing formulas. I only use kohls on my waterline and almost never during the work week.

* Lancome Le Stylo wp in Amethyst
* Urban Decay 24/7 in Rockstar
* Clinique Cream Shaper in Black Diamond
* MAC Power Point in Engraved
* MAC Power Point in Forever Green
And I always use my trusty ELF undereye concealer in fair (swatched above) and my Shu eyelash curler since my lashes are stick straight. I don't wear a lot of mascara but currently I'm trying to use up a Dior Show mini.

Most days, my eyes take me about a minute.

Another awesome post! I have pretty bad allergies too, so I'll have to try out some of those liners!

Omg, I totally understand what you mean when you talk about allergies...I sneeze continuously in the morning maybe about 10 times (if I'm luck, unlucky...a lot more than 10) and sometimes in the middle of me drawing my eyes with a LIQUID liner...needless to say it gets on the bottom of my eyes and I look like a panda. >___<

But thanks for the swatches. ^___^

@Lisa Kate: Yeah, I don't even try to wear liner if it's a non-waterproof one on the top. It's just pointless.

@sunniipinky: Aww. I like very few liquid liners just because one wrong move and it gets all over the placed!
